Can you use capacitors in place of batteries?
Hey guys. I'm new to the whole electronic engineering scene, and I have some experiments I'd like to work on concerning RC vehicles. Because batteries take a long time to charge, I was looking for a new way to provide power to a small RC car, so there's more driving and less waiting. I cracked open one of my old zip zap rc cars, and the power source appeared to be, not a battery, but a small capacitor. However, I'm not sure if it was, so I want to know if that little power source was indeed a capacitor. If it is, do you guys think that the capacitor could be scaled up to, say, a 1/10 scale hobby rc car to reduce charge time? Details would be nice if you can give any (run time, charge time, etc.)

How to start off in the world of hobby rc cars?
I am fairly technically minded, have a good grasp of static modelling but would love to get into hobby rc. I am thinking about petrol or nitro preferably with a pull start if possible and would like to hear the opinion of informed hobbyists re which model should I begin with? I am not adverse to spending money although I don't want to spend megabucks as I'm fairly likely to crash more than once! Terrain will be fields and tracks so a buggy? To be honest I'm guessing so please help. Regards.

What is a good starting hobby rc car for some one new like me?
Im looking into getting a new rc car but not a toy I want a hooby one. I rather have an electric one first then over time when I learn more ill get a nitro. Im looking for one customizable but not too expensive.. I dont want to pay too much money, i also would like one that doesnt come assembled so I can build it myself and learn more that way.. Would also consider a assembled ready to ride though.. Please leave any suggestions and tips for an unexperienced guy like me.... Thank you for your time
